The Dunes of Merzouga, also known as Erg Chebbi, are located about 35 km from Algeria and serve as the gateway to the desert. They are the only Saharan erg on Moroccan territory and cover a large area of about twenty kilometers long, with dunes that can reach up to 150 meters in height. Don’t miss the sunset or sunrise from the dunes, as it is an unforgettable experience. A camel ride is a fun and enjoyable way to enhance your trip.
Daily departures from Marrakech are available for the Marrakech to Merzouga tour, which is packed with many sites and interesting scenery changes. You’ll experience a dramatic change of landscape, from the High Atlas Mountains to several valleys and oases, including the Middle Atlas and rocky plateaus, all the way to the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. If you want to discover the deepest parts of the Moroccan desert, this is the best trip for you.
