Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedars Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara

We will depart from Fes at 8 o’clock in the morning and travel through Ifrane, known for its low temperatures, snow and alpine-style houses. Ifrane is often called the Switzerland of Morocco for these reasons. We will then continue to the cedars forest, home to Barbary Macaques. Feel free to feed them while exploring the forest of the Middle Atlas forest of Azrou. We will stop for lunch in Midelt, also known as the “apple capital” at the foot of Ayachi Mountain. After lunch, we will continue our journey over the Tizi-n-Talremt pass and through the Ziz Valley. Our journey will take us through Errachidia and then Erfoud, which is famous for its date festival and fossils. We will finally reach the dunes of Merzouga where we will spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga Region – Nomads – Khamlia – Rissani – Palm Grove

After breakfast, we will start our journey in Merzouga by driving off-road to visit the nomads and learn about their way of life while enjoying a Berber tea. Our next destination is the Khamlia village where we will enjoy Gnaoua music and dancing performances. The inhabitants of Khamlia originate from sub-Saharan countries such as Mali, Sudan and Niger. We will then continue on to Rissani where we will visit a traditional Souk Market and have free time for lunch in a restaurant. After lunch, we will return to Merzouga where you will switch to camels and cross the sandy desert. A stop will be made for you to enjoy the magical sunset on top of a high dune. We will then continue to the desert luxury camp where you can enjoy Berber drums music while dancing around the campfire under the vast open sky of stars. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Ifrane – Fes

If you wake up early enough, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise, when the colour of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. After breakfast at the camp, we will continue to Erfoud where we will visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble. After that, we will drive along the Ziz River and stop for a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley. Then we will drive through the cedars forest and Ifrane to reach Fes. Finally, we will drop you off at the airport or your accommodation, marking the end of the tour.
