Day tour itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech sightseeing activities

If you are arrive early from airport enough, you could start our Marrakech medina tour, in this guided tour you will visit the main history sites of Marrakech including: The Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia palace,Saadins tombs,Baadi palace, the main souks of medina, the famous square of Jemaa El fna and Majorelle garden.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate (204 Km)

You depart in the morning by 4×4 car from Marrakech and travel to Ouarzazate. We will pass through the stunning High-Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260m). At panoramic viewpoints, there will opportunities to stop and take photos. Our first scheduled stop of the day is to visit the once glorious kasbah of Telouet. We then drive from Telouet through the lunar landscapes of the valley of Ounila to the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where we have lunch. Ait Ben Haddou is a Unesco World Heritage site, where films such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia were filmed. In the afternoon, we explore the famous 11th century kasbah before leaving for Ouarzazate for the night in a hotel.

Day 3: Ouarzazate – valley Roses – Dades gorge – Todra Gorges (168 km)

You depart Ouarzazate in the morning where we will enter the Dades valley, which is known as the valley of a thousand kasbahs. Then we pass through the oasis of Skoura where architectural marvels are to be discovered at every turn. From here, our route takes us through Kela’a M’gouna, the valley of the roses, where over 4000 tons of roses are harvested every spring from this desert oasis! Next we drive off-road to the Dades gorges for lunch. The Dades gorge is breathtaking with its sheer red rocks and lush oasis, we will spend part of the afternoon strolling along the Boumalne Dades river. We are off to the Todra gorges for the second night. The Todra gorge, with its crystal clear waters, is a fantastic experience for any nature lover!

Day 4: Tinghir – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga (199 Km)

After breakfast, there is time for a leisurely walk in the Tinghir palm grove, before driving to the dunes of Merzouga via the Ziz valley and the oasis of Tafilalet, stopping in Erfoud for lunch. Having arrived in Merzouga, in the course of the afternoon there is time to take a walk and ascend the Erg Chebbi dunes so as to watch the sunset from the summit (250m). After sunset, the night will be spent in a luxury camp, which is also the venue for dinner.

Day 5: Erg Chibbi – Rissani – N’Qob – Draa Valley – Agdez (471 Km)

If you wake up early enough, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise. After you having breakfast then return on camel back, the itinerary continues to the Dra’a valley via the villages of RissaniAlnifTazzarine and N’Qob where we stop to have lunch. In the afternoon, the journey takes us to Tanasikht from where we drive along the ancient caravan route to discover the Dra’a valley, with its huge palm trees and ancient villages. At the end of the afternoon, the Kasbah of Tamnougalte offers dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 6: Agdez – Anti-Atlas – Draa valley – Zagora – Erg Chegaga dunes (371 Km)

Departure in the morning from Agdez through the Dra’a valley along the track of the ancient caravan route to Zagora. From here the trip continues along paved roads to the village of M’hamid, which marks the end of the paved road and the beginning of the Sahara. Here we pause for lunch. In the afternoon, we leave for the dunes of Chagaga (300m) with 65km of off-road driving. This route passes different features of the desert; ‘erg’, ‘reg’, ‘hammada’, oases. By the afternoon, we have arrived to Erg Chagaga, there is time for taking a walk to watch the sunset from the summit (300m). After sunset, the night will be spent in a nomad tent, which is also the venue for dinner.

Day 7: Erg Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Ouarzazate(271 Km)

After breakfast, the road crosses another 100km of off-road driving in the Moroccan sahara desert, passing the Iriqui lake and the mountains as well as fossils, for enthusiasts. The first village beyond the desert, Foum Zguid, is the place for lunch. In the afternoon, we travel north to Ouarzazate past hills and oases of palm trees until we reach Taznakht, a small Berber town famous for its rugs and gelims. We reach Ouarzazate by the end of the afternoon for the night in a hotel.

Day 8 : Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech(271 Km)

After breakfast, we visit the famous kasbah of Taourirt (originally the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech and a symbol of the feudal period of the Lords of the Atlas) and the Atlas Film Studios. Afterwards, an unpaved track to the oasis of Fint nestling among the mountains, which once served as the crossroads of caravans, provides a hidden delight. We then take the road back to Marrakech over the High Atlas. Alternatively lunch will be in the mountains. We reach Marrakesh by the end of the afternoon, dinner and night in a hotel.

Day 9 : Marrakech – Airport

Transfer from the hotel to the airport of Marrakesh.
