2 days Trip from Ouarzazate to Merzouga Erg Chebbi desert

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara – Overnight in a Luxury Camp

The morning departure takes us from Ouarzazate to the dunes of Merzouga via the oasis of Skoura, where we stop to visit the Kasbah of Amridil. We pass through the Valley of the Roses, the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, and the Dades Valley to the Todra Gorges, where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon, our trip continues to the dunes of Merzouga, where we take an hour-long camel ride to reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi (250m). The sunset view from the top of the dunes is spectacular. At Erg Chebbi, we will have dinner and spend the night in a comfortable desert camp.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Tazzarine – N’Qob – Draa Valley – Agdez – Ouarzazate

If you wake up early enough, you can witness the spectacle of the sunrise, with the color of the dunes and the play of shadows creating an awesome sight. After breakfast, we return to the car on camelback, and then drive from Merzouga to Ouarzazate, passing through the villages of Rissani, Alnif, Tazzarine (now appearing in the film ‘Babel’), and N’Qob, where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon, we drive along the Draa Valley and the ancient road of caravans, surrounded by palm trees and ancient Kasbahs such as the well-known Tamnougalte. We rejoin the paved road in Agdez and reach Ouarzazate at the end of the day, crossing the Anti-Atlas and the mountain pass of Tizi-n-Tinfifite (1660m).
