Only have two days? Ouarzazate is the closest big town to the dunes, so a 2-day trip really works from here: east to Merzouga through the Dades valley and the Todra gorges, or south down the Draa valley to the quiet dunes near M’hamid.
Want the classic golden dunes? Choose Erg Chebbi at Merzouga, Morocco’s highest and most famous dunes. Our Merzouga tours last 2, 3 or 4 days and return to Ouarzazate; the longer versions slow the pace and add more of the oases and the Tafilalet region.
Prefer somewhere wild and remote? Choose Erg Chigaga, reached through Zagora and M’hamid and left by the desert track past Iriqui lake to Foum Zguid. The 3-day tour returns to Ouarzazate and the 4-day version continues to the Dades valley.
